GeoGratis uses both File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to distribute geospatial data via its portal.
Because some digital files are large, often tens of megabites in size, plan to download during off-peak hours.
Finally, it should be noted that the geospatial data have a wide variety of sources, scales, resolutions, projections, spectral resolutions and formats.
